    Private Yoga Classes

For centuries Yoga was taught to a
single student at a time.  Yoga
    encompassed many aspects of life,
not just the physical body. Our current
tradition of yoga as an exercise class is a
Western evolution of the tradition.  It is not the only way to learn yoga.

We invite you try a private yoga session.   There are as many different
benefits as there are possible goals.  For example:
  1. Exploring a physical issue or posture that needs more attention
than you can receive in a group setting.
  2. On-going guided coaching of your yoga practice in a one-on-
    one setting.
  3. Exploring meditation, pranayama, yoga nidra or other practices
that are only lightly touched upon in class.
  4. Exploring Yogic Spiritual Direction by engaging in a ongoing
(usually one/month) conversation with your teacher about
practicing yoga in your day-to-day life.
  5. Receiving the focused support and guidance of a teacher
during a time of physical, emotional or spiritual challenge.
  6. Establishing a therapeutic yoga practice with regular guided
    attention.
  7. Working occasionally with a teacher to develop and support a
    home yoga practice.
  8. Some combination of the above.

In a private yoga session there is the opportunity for greater dialogue
with your teacher than there is a community class.  You can come with
lots of questions and follow your curiosity as your yoga evolves with a
    companion on the journey.

Private yoga sessions cost between $45 and $85 per hour depending
upon the teacher and their experience.  If you have an active class
card you can use credit on your card toward your private session.

Here are some examples of the kinds of private yoga our teachers
    offer:

Kelly Guenther:  Sport-related yoga, strecthes and enhancing sports
    performance.
Matt Hartman: Yoga Therapy and Postural Alignment.
Brigitte Herold-Archer:  Restorative Yoga and Guided Meditation
Ellen Kennedy:  Yoga Flow and Breath Practices
Liz Riley:  Yoga for Cancer Patients and their families
Lisa Wells:  Yoga for the whole self: integrating your physical, spiritual
and emotional well-being with yoga practice.  Creating personalized
home practices. Yoga as prayer: finding your way to listen to the voice
that will intuitively guide your practice.   Working with individuals
dealing with chronic and acute health challenges.
